Mental health and psychological safety
Looking after people is just as important as protecting them.
Mental health and wellbeing are an important part of a healthy, supportive and productive workplace. Practical, engaging and approachable training helps people feel more confident talking about mental health, spot the signs early and know where to get help.

Practical. Supportive. People-focused.
With over 20 years of experience in health and safety, I understand that a safe workplace is not only about preventing physical accidents. Mental health and wellbeing are an important part of creating a healthy, supportive and productive working environment.
I care about raising awareness of mental health in the workplace, and my sessions are designed to give employees and managers the knowledge and confidence to recognise when someone may be struggling, start supportive conversations and know where to signpost people for further help.
My aim is to make mental health awareness straightforward, relatable and relevant to everyday working life. Whether you want to introduce mental health awareness to your workforce, support your managers or create a culture where people feel more comfortable speaking up, I can provide training tailored to your organisation.

Common questions
Do employers have a legal duty to manage stress?
Yes. You must assess the risks to health at work, which includes work-related stress, and act on what you find. HSE's Management Standards give you a practical way to do this.
What is psychological safety?
It is a shared belief in a team that people can speak up, ask questions, admit mistakes or raise concerns without being blamed or embarrassed. On site, it is what makes people report near misses and stop unsafe work.
Is mental health awareness the same as mental health first aid?
No. Awareness helps everyone understand mental health and where to find help. Mental health first aid is a separate, longer course for nominated people. Tell us what your team needs and we will talk through the options.
Is this a counselling or crisis service?
No. We help you build awareness and a supportive workplace. If someone is in crisis, call 999, or Samaritans free on 116 123 at any time.
How does psychological safety improve health and safety?
When people feel safe to speak up, hazards and near misses are reported sooner, problems are fixed before someone is hurt, and lessons are shared across the team.
